Before founding TBH (Tortoise Beats Hare) Plan in 2007, David spent the previous ten years working for public institutions in various wealth management roles. From being an advisor, to running an Investment Management and Trust division and being part of group that managed a multi-billion dollar portfolio, David learned the intricacies of the planning and investment world. With this knowledge, David found a better way to work with clients.
David learned the Registered Investment Advisor model allowed him to work as a fiduciary for clients and could truly offer them customized solutions that were transparent and unbiased. His compensation would be paid solely by clients and not based on which investment product was sold or at the discretion of corporate management.
David is an avid reader of anything Behavioral Finance and is always seeking to understand how one’s preconceived notions can ultimately be the difference between success and failure. David graduated from the University of the South (Sewanee) with a B.A. in Psychology in 1993 while playing football and baseball and coaching basketball at St. Andrews-Sewanee School. David holds the FINRA Series 65 license and also serves as a founding partner for TBH Advisors.
